October 4th- potential Evan Day!

The people in Taiwan who are processing our adoption scheduled an appointment on Oct. 4th at 10:30 am for us to meet Evan in Tainan, Taiwan. We are very, very excited about this and we are eagerly awaiting the go-ahead to book our flights. There is only one last piece of paperwork that they are waiting to receive in Taiwan from the USCIS and then we can schedule the trip.

We will go a few days early to check out Taipei and adjust to the time difference and we will return on October 7th or 8th. It’s a short trip, so maybe we’ll skip jet lag all together 🙂

So far Evan has:
-a room that’s cleared out for him
– a rocking chair
-a crib with one blue sheet and 3 pink sheets and the quilt Emily made for Ava
-2 sippy cups
-4 to 8 outfits
-a warm,cuddly fleece for winter
-a pair of size 5 shoes (I have no idea what size he wears)
-lots and lots of books and toys
-a car seat and strollers

What else could a boy possibly need? Maybe bottles, gates for the stairs, locks for the cabinets, more winter gear, and that’s about all I can think of.

I’d say we are more than ready for him to come home!

OMG, I’m so excited for you!!!! I will keep an eye on this blog very closely for updates. How absolutely wonderful the time is coming after the long wait. I can’t wait to hear about it and to meet Evan and see Ava and Evan as siblings and the four of you as a family.

I got to talk to Ava yesterday and she sounded so grown up!!! I only talked for a minute and told her to tell both of you hi for me. I also told her I would love for her to come see me — she said OK. Just that little conversation with her lifted my spirits.

    Love you,
    Myrna
