We’re leaving our house at 4:15 in the morning to catch the bus to the airport for our 7am flight. After one stop and a two hour car ride, we will probably arrive in Cape Cod by 6 or 7pm EST. I know this long day of travel will be worth the fun and excitement once we see our friends. Ava’s very excited about going to the beach and she told me she’s going to wear her goggles and go under water. She doesn’t even do that in a pool, so I’m doubting it will happen in the ocean. Not to mention, the highest temperature of the whole week will be 76 degrees. It’s so hard to pack for that when it is in the upper 80’s here. I keep putting our cutest summer outfits in the suitcase and Nathan keeps reminding me that we will freeze in tank tops, shorts, and summer dresses.
A few people have asked me how we chose Cape Cod- last year Lisa called me after she, Rick and Clara came home from their annual vacation there and said Clara would have had even more fun if Ava were with her. I told her we could arrange for Ava (and her parents) to be there the following year. So here we are about to share a house on the beach (well, 1/2 a mile from the beach) with Lisa, Rick and Clara. Ava and Clara will be a riot together- we’ll take lots of videos and pictures.
I’m hoping to upload pictures while we’re gone, but we’ll see what happens.
Okay, time to finish packing and get some sleep. I love traveling and it’s even more fun (and challenging) with a three year old!
