Ava’s learning more at school than I thought

Yeah, she knows her left hand from her right hand, they’ve taught her many songs, and she brings home beautiful watercolor paintings, but I wasn’t anticipating that they’d teach her about boy and girl parts.

At dinner last night-

Ava: Mom, my friend Luis is a boy and we call him ‘he’. Also he has a ‘peanuts’. And I have a little ‘peanut’.

Me: Oh, are you saying that Luis has a penis?

Ava: Yes, and me too.

Me: Actually, honey, only boys and men have one.

We went on to talk about various parts and their functions. While I wasn’t expecting the conversation, I thought it went pretty well except for the fact that I couldn’t keep a straight face. She was just so matter-of-fact and cute about the whole thing.

Wonder what she’ll be telling me about next 😉

Hmmm … the edited version Diana? Clara is now telling me she NEEDS money. Guess we’ll be turning over the car keys soon (oh, yeah, Clara has also informed me she is Big now and can drive me to school and will come pick me up after lunch … wonder if she really would come back?) They are growing up way too fast!

OMG, how funny is that? Peanuts. Kids are just too much. I can’t imagine how you managed to keep a straight face with that one!!!! Another great blog for her to read when she is older!!!!! She is an amazing little girl and the things she says, you really don’t know what she’ll come up with next. She is very smart, even if school taught her left and right, she picks things up so quickly. Yes, another genius in the family, I’m certain of it.
    Love,
    Aunt Myrna
